Zarand is a town in the Kerman_province of Iran. With a population of about 15,000 people, it is located about 55 km northwest of the provincial capital of Kerman.

On February 22, 2005, a major earthquake killed hundreds of residents in the town of Zarand and several nearby villages in north Kerman. (See 2005 Zarand earthquake.)
