The Wersgorix (singular: Wersgor) are a fictional race of extraterrestrials in Poul Anderson's book The High Crusade. The Wersgorix attempt to take over Earth by testing the feasibility of its settlement.
They have, after centuries of space travel, become lazy in defense. They were used to taking planets easily, with little or no resistance from natives. This explains why the humans of Ansby, Lincolnshire, England, were able to defeat them so easily under the command of Sir Roger, Baron de Tourneville.
