Wellington School, Somerset

Wellington School, Somerset, is a co-educational public school catering for both boarders and day pupils. It should not to be confused with either Wellington School, Shropshire or Wellington College. The school is the second largest employer in the town of Wellington, Somerset where it is situated, near the centre of the town. It was founded in the nineteenth century. In 2000, it opened a new junior school nearby, having previously only catered for pupils 10 and over.

Despite being a relatively minor public school, it has nevertheless produced several celebrity alumni, namely:

The school underwent a minor scandal in 2003, when a maths teacher, Ian Sarginson, was sent to prison for having had sex at his home with a 14 year-old male pupil.[1]
