Walter William Herger (born May 20 1945), American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 1987, representing the 2nd District of California (map), including Chico, Redding and Red Bluff. He was born in Yuba City, California, was educated at California State University, Sacramento and was a cattle rancher, businessman and member of the California Assembly from 1980 to 1986 before entering the House. Herger is married to Pamela Sargent and has eight children. He's a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
