Rutti is a word first expressed in Oslo by an unknown norweigan warehouse worker sometime around year 2000. It rapidly spread over the border to Sweden and gained foothold in the small town of Härnösand. The word has gained popularity among young people in other parts of Sweden and is still spreading.

The meaning is somewhat difficult to understand as the word gets its meaning in the prevailing context. It's meaning is however always something very positive and the purpose is often to encourage. Maybe the brilliance is that this word encompass a bigger spectrum of words that you can express at the same time using it in the correct way.

The opposite word Orutti can be used in the same way to express deprecation.

Examples of use is: - "Rutti overtaking"

- "Hi guys, how do you like my new sweater?" - "Rutti"

- "How was your vacation in Greece?" - "It's a cool country, we visited this rutti town in the south called Iraklio."

Can also be used if you witness someone doing something cool by crying out "Rutti".
