Wikipedia appeals to me so much because it is a sort of 'information democracy'. Any person can contribute to it, allowing a vast range of information to be included in it. Because of the open-source nature of Wikipedia, it has the potential to be more comprehensive than any other encyclpædia.

An explanation of my username: it comes from an epithet I have given myself in Quenya, Mānandil Mizimon Ingōlemo. The first name is meant to mean 'friend of goodness'. The second is a translation of my own first name. The last is the word for 'wizard, one of deep lore'. In retrospect, this is a rather arrogant name, and Ñolmo 'man of lore' would be more suitable.

I am a member of the Association of Wikipedians Who Dislike Making Broad Judgements About the Worthiness of a General Category of Article, and Who Are In Favor of the Deletion of Some Particularly Bad Articles, but That Doesn't Mean They are Deletionist . I am probably more likely to vote to delete something, but I am seeing more and more nominations of the RfA opposed because of 'deletionism'. This is a dangerous mindset: a person must be judged by their actions, not by their stated political/philosophical positions. Thus, I must protest the current state of affairs and join the AoWWDMBJAtWoaGCoAaWAIFotDoSPBDbTDMTaD.
