The University of Tampa, or UT, is located across the Hillsborough River from downtown Tampa, Florida. Some of the classrooms and offices, as well as the Henry B. Plant Museum, are located in the former Tampa Bay Hotel, a national historic landmark that was completed in 1891.

The university's architecture is heavily steeped in Moorish influences; it is the leading example of Moorish architecture in the southeastern United States.
