The University of Nebraska is the main public higher education outlet of the State of Nebraska in the United States. It is comprised of the following campuses:



As of April 2005, the President of the University is James B. Milliken, J.D., replacing L. Dennis Smith , and the Board of Regents comprises of:

  • Charles Wilson, M.D., representing District 1 in the Lincoln area
  • Howard Hawks, representing District 2 in greater Omaha
  • Charles Hassebrook, representing District 3 in northeastern Nebraska
  • Drew Miller, Ph.D., representing District 4 in the Omaha metropolitan area
  • Jim McClurg, Ph.D., representing District 5 in southeast Nebraska, including part of Lincoln
  • Kent Schroeder, J.D., representing District 6 in central Nebraska,
  • C. David Hergert, representing District 7 in western Nebraska
  • Randolph Ferlic, MD, representing District 8 in the Omaha area
  • Brett Chloupek, representing the students of the University of Nebraska at Kearney
  • Katie Weichman, representing the students of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.
  • Nicholas Behrendt, representing the students of the University of Nebraska Medical Center
  • Elizabeth Kraemer, representing the students of the University of Nebraska at Omaha
