Tylöskog is the name of the deep forest between Närke and Östergötland. Together with Tiveden and Kolmården it constituted the frontier between the Swedes in Svealand and the Geats in Götaland.

Its name is derived from a locality in the forest and, oddly, the locals hardly use the name.
