Trelew, Patagonia

Trelew is a city in the Chubut Province of Patagonia. The population is about 85,000. It was founded by settlers from Wales.

Brief History: After foundation it becomes a pass-town for all south-patagonia. It's said that Billy the kid was in the city, escaping from the police. Later, in the 1980 decade, it becomes a industrial city, only to be smashed with the economic politics of the President Menem in the 1990. As 2005, the unemployment is high and the people are fleeing the city.

It has a small commercial center, several neighborhoods, and some "villas", kind of very poor neighborhoods, with houses made of tin metal or pressed cardboard, where the living conditions are very harsh, because winters of -10 C or less are common.
