Tinsley Randolph Harrison

Tinsley Randolph Harrison (March 18, 1900August 4, 1978) was a US physician and editor of the first five editions of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine.

Harrison was born in Talladega, Alabama on March 18, 1900. He was the son of Groce Harrison, himself a sixth-generation physician. He studied medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine . His special field of interest was cardiovascular medicine as well as the pathophysiological mechanisms of disease. His name is best known among medical practioners through being the founding editor and editor-in-chief of the first five editions of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine.

Harrison died in Birmingham, Alabama on August 4, 1978.
