Thomas Lessman

Thomas Lessman was born on October 23 1977, in Topeka, Kansas, United States. He became a father at the age of sixteen and graduated from Shawnee Hieghts High School in 1996. Lessman is a social activist, networking with the United States Libertarian Party and fathers/family-rights activists.

He is the founder of the Million Dads March and is the President of the Kansas branch of the American Congress of Families and Children. He has been the organizer of the Million Dads Marches on Washington, D.C., each year since 2002.

Lessman has been Libertarian all his political life. In 2004, he ran an unsuccessful campaign for the Kansas legislature on a family-rights platform; he came third out of five candidates. He is currently working to forge an alliance between the Kansas Libertarians and the Libertarian and Conservative wings of the Kansas Republican Party.
