Thea Astley (25 August 1925 - 17 August 2004) was an Australian novelist.
Born in Brisbane, Astley studied arts at the University of Queensland before becoming a teacher. After marrying, she moved to Sydney. In later life she tutored at Macquarie University.
Her novels won several Miles Franklin Awards and in 1989 she won the Patrick White Award. She was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Queensland in 1989.
