The Minus Man is a movie that opened October 8, 1999.
Story
The movie centers around a serial killer (Owen Wilson) who picks victims who seem to be unhappy with their lives, the first example being a drug addict with asthma (Sheryl Crow, in her first film appearance). The killer settles into a small seaside town with a job delivering mail, looking for his next victim while living with a married couple. He is pursued by a woman in town (Janeane Garofalo), but can't escape flashbacks of being pursued by detectives. The film was based on the novel of the same name by Lew McCreary .
The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
