The Million Dollar Hotel

The Million Dollar Hotel is a movie written by Bono of Irish rock band U2, and directed by Wim Wenders and was accompanied by a soundtrack of the same title. It starred Milla Jovovich, Jeremy Davies, Mel Gibson, and Jimmy Smits.

The movie is about a group of very different people who live in a hotel in Los Angeles, focusing primarily on Tom Tom (Jeremy Davies) and his romance with Eloise (Milla Jovovich).

The story was originally developed by Bono in 1987 when filming the famous live video for Where the streets have no name on the roof of the Roslyn Million Dollar Hotel in Los Angeles. The movie was optioned by Mel Gibson's production company in 1992. Bono was speaking to Gary Oldman for the lead role of Tom Tom at the time. The plans were sidelined until 1999-2000 due to disagreements between Gibson, Oldman and their requirements of who would direct the film.

The movie received moderate success and critical reviews. Gibson said in a later interview that this was the "most boring film" he had ever made.
