The Iron Man: A Musical

Released in 1989, The Iron Man: The Musical By Pete Townshend, is an adaptation of Ted Hughes' story The Iron Man, produced and mostly performed and composed by Pete Townshend of The Who. In a way, it is not a solo album, since it also stars the likes of Roger Daltrey, Deborah Conway, John Lee Hooker, and Nina Simone as different characters in the musical. In another way, it is also the release of new material by The Who, since its three then surviving members (Daltrey, John Entwistle, and Townshend) perform as the group in two songs, although one of them is not penned by Townshend.
