The Field is a 1990 film which tells the story of a tenant farmer who attempts to outbid an American developer for the parcel of land that his family has farmed for generations. It stars Richard Harris, Sean Bean, Frances Tomelty , Brenda Fricker, John Hurt and Tom Berenger.

The movie was adapted and directed by Jim Sheridan from the play by John B. Keane.

Richard Harris was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor.
