Tenpo

Tempō (天保) was a Japanese era after Bunsei and before Kōka and spanned from December 10 (?), 1830 to December 2 (?), 1844. The reigning emperor was Ninko.

Change of Era

Due to the disasters of a great fire in Edo and an earthquake at Kyoto, on December 10 (?), Bunsei 13 (1830), the era became Tempō (roughly "Imperial/Heavenly support/protection")
