Tara is a river in Montenegro. Near the border with Bosnia, it forms the river Drina together with the river Piva .

The canyon of the river Tara is the deepest canyon in Montenegro at 1,300 m depth. The canyon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the area of Serbia to the north there is a Tara mountain and Tara National Park.
