• Describe the railroad's relationships with the Indian cultures along its route
• Describe the railroad's relationship with the Harvey House chain of restaurants/hotels
• Maybe mention the song, made famous by Judy Garland
• The Santa Fe and the Southern Pacific were part of a failed merger in the 1980s, the SPSF (which has since come to stand for Shouldnt Paint So Fast).
• There are many interesting stories of railbuilding competition through the Rockies between the Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, Union Pacific and Rio Grande railroads.
• The Santa Fe has been a leader in intermodal transportation between Southern California ports and the Midwest
• Significant acquisitions such as the Toledo, Peoria & Western
• Named passenger trains, such as the Super Chief, have become a part of American culture
