Take It From Here was BBC radio comedy programme starring Jimmy Edwards, a moustached comedian; Dick Bentley, an Australian; and Joy Nicholls , later to replaced by June Whitfield. It was written by Frank Muir and Denis Norden. It first aired in 1948.

It was one of the first shows to rely on parodies of film and book styles, as later used in Round the Horne and many television programmes.

The series contained a running sketch featuring a dysfunctional family called The Glums. The series was originally devised as an antidote to the rather 'nice' family sagas that abounded on the BBC at the time. The characters of these sketches were:

• Ma Glum: The typical battleaxe, who we never hear
• Pa Glum: Played by Jimmy Edwards, he is controlled by Ma Glum
• Ron Glum: Played by Dick Bentley (Ian Lavender on television), he is Pa Glum's daft son
• Eth: Played by June Whitfield, she was not appreciated by Pa Glum, who wouldn't accept her marrying Ron. She is clever though daft-sounding, with the catchphrase "Oh, Ron".
  (It should be noted that long engagements were commonplace in Britain at that time).
• Barman: Also played by Dick, he would be the one that Pa would narrate the story to

The Glums made their first appearance on TIFH in 1953 and became a popular hit.

It was so well remembered that it was briefly revived in 1978 on television as part of Bruce Forsyth's Big Night.
