Cherry blossoms at Ueno Park

Taitō (台東区; -ku) is a special ward located in Tokyo, Japan. As of 2003, the ward has an estimated population of 162,685 and a density of 16,139.38 persons per km². The total area is 10.08 km².

The ward was founded on March 15, 1947.
