Stephen F. Lynch (born March 31 1955), American politician, has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since he was elected to replace the late Congressman Joe Moakley , who died in office in 2001. He was born in Boston, was educated at Boston College and Harvard University, and was a attorney and a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Massachusetts Senate before entering the U.S. House of Representatives, where he currently represents the 9th District of Massachusetts (map).
