Standing on the Shoulder of Giants is the fourth studio album by Oasis, released in 2000. It's the band worst selling album with only 3 million copies worldwide.

Trivia

  • The album's title was taken from the words of Sir Isaac Newton: "If I can see further than anyone else, it is only because I am standing on the shoulders of giants". Noel Gallagher saw the words on the side of a £2 coin and liked it so much he wrote it on the side of a cigarette packet. Unfortunately, he missed the plural "s" on the end of "shoulders".
  • Due to the departure of Bonehead and Guigsey from the band whilst the album was in production, their parts had to be re-recorded, for legal reasons. Thus, the album only features Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher and Alan White
