The term Slashbot refers to a stereotypical participant of the technology-oriented weblog called Slashdot. It's generally a pejorative term -- although some wear the badge proudly -- and implies one or more of the following habitual behaviors:

• Consistent failure to RTFA
• Propensity to deploy slashdot trolling phenomena
• Evangelistic espousal of Linux/BSD, Apple/Macintosh/Mac OS X, Open Source, etc.
• Evangelistic condemnation of Microsoft, SCO, etc.
