Simon Phillips

Simon Phillips (born February 6, 1957) is a leading British jazz and rock drummer who has toured, and especially recorded, with a wide variety of musicians and bands (full list of session credits at Simon's website), ranging from Toto to Mike Oldfield to Judas Priest and from Mick Jagger to Camel to Stanley Clarke. He also was the drummer for The Who in the 1989 USA Reunion tour, and appeared on recordings by band members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.

A different Simon Phillips plays bass, keyboards and programs drums for The Orb. He has his own band Prayerbox, collaborating with Duncan Mackay, Diane Charlemagne, Tom Green and apparently a whole host of other musicians and singers. He also works closely with visual artist Jordan Baseman. At the moment they are just embarking on their first joint film venture.
