Shinzan

Shinzan (シンザン, by Irish Derby winner Hindostan - Hayanobori) was a Japanese racehorse born on April 2, 1961 in Hokkaido Prefecture. He was a thoroughbred racehorse and Japanese Triple Crown champion in 1964. Shinzan won the Arima Kinen, Takaradukakinen, and Tennousyou Autumn, and was a champion horse in 1965 as well. He was a successful sire in Japan. His most successful offspring was Mihoshinzan who won the Japanese 2000 Guineas, Japanese St. Leger, and Tennousyou Spring. Shinzan died in Hokkaido on July 13, 1996.
