Selkirk—Interlake

Selkirk—Interlake is the name of a federal electoral district in Manitoba, Canada. It has existed twice: from 1976 to 1987 and again since 1996.

The first creation was carved from Portage , Selkirk and Winnipeg South Centre. It was divided into Churchill, Portage—Interlake , Provencher and Selkirk . The second creation was carved from Churchill, Portage—Interlake, Provencher and Selkirk—Red River .

The riding is located generally between Lake Winnipeg and Lake Winnipegosis and includes the northern suburbs of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The population (2001) is 86,555.

The riding is formerly an NDP/Conservative battleground that has leaned more and more conservative as the years passed, and is now a safe conservative seat.
