Sanjay Nirupam

Sanjay Nirupam (born February 6, 1965) is an Indian politician.

He was born in the remote village of Rohtas in Bihar. He spent his childhood in Rohtas and after completing his schooling, moved to Patna in 1980 for higher education. He has been active in politics since his student life. He graduated in 1986 in arts with honours in political science.

He moved to Delhi in 1986 and joined the weekly "Panch Janya" as a Sub-editor. In 1988, he received an offer from "Jan-Satta" a sister publication of Indian Express which led to his moving to Mumbai.

In 1993, Bal Thackeray, Shiv Sena Supremo asked him to join "Dopahar-Ka-Samna", as its Executive Editor. In September 1996, he was handpicked by Bal Thackeray to represent the party in the Rajya Sabha and propagate the party view point in the Parliament.

In March 2005, he resigned from the Shiv Sena.
