Sandy Pearlman

Sandy Pearlman was the original producer, manager and a songwriter for the Blue Öyster Cult.

  • according to The Seattle Times, the originator of the term "heavy metal music" (while writing for Crawdaddy!)
  • hailed (or blamed) by The Village Voice for creating “the Triumph of the Will guitar sound”

  • recipient of more than 15 gold and platinum records
  • pioneered & presently working at legitimate delivery of music online
  • Woodrow Wilson Fellow in the History of Ideas
  • played by Christopher Walken in the often requested Saturday Night Live More Cowbell parody skit of the making of “The Reaper”. However the name of Iron Maiden's lead singer (who would have been only 18 in 1976) is erroneously used instead. Bruce Dickinson has produced some BÖC reissues. {This skit is available on DVD -- and by Internet search}
