Sanae Kikuta

Sanae Kikuta(菊田早苗、September 10,1971- ) is a Japanese professional Mixed Martial Artist.

Biography

Amateur era

He was born in Nerima, Tokyo,Japan in 1971. He became a pupil of "Super Tiger Gym" when he was in 6th form of an elementary school. He also joined a Judo team of his junior high school when he was a junior high school student.He won the meeting of Kanto Middleweight class when he was in 3rd grade. In addition he won 86kg class of the National Athletic Meet Highschool Judo when he was a High school student.Then learned Judo under Toshihiko Koga when he was an univercity student.

After that, he went to Australia to learn kickboxing.After he wen home, he won heavyweight of the All Japan Amateur Shoot Boxing championship even it was the first time for him.

In1996, he won the first "The Tournament of J"which is the MMA tournament that allows jacket match. He also won it in 1997.

He also joined RINGS. The record was 2fights 2won.

Join to PANCRASE

He joined PANCRASE in April 1994.He won the first match just in 1 minute 20 seconds with submission. Although it was the first time for him to fight in octagon of UFC he won with submission in the 3rd "UFC-J"April 2000.He foght against Murilo Bustamante in October 2000. Then he made a good fight.

He found his own team "GRABAKA"(which means Groundwork crazy) in June 2000.

He joined ADCC in April 2001. he won its 88kg class.

Finaly he won the title of PANCRASE Ligh heavyweight championship in September 2001.

He found "GRABAKA gym" in Nakano,Tokyo.
