The SJ413, known as the Suzuki Samurai in North America, was an updated version of the SJ410 . It included a larger 1.3L engine, a 5 speed transmission, and 3" wider wheelbase.
The Suzuki Samurai gained infamy in the United States after being targeted by Consumer Reports as having an 'unacceptable' rollover rating. Suzuki Motors eventually sued Consumer Reports for mis-advertising. Consumer Reports attempted to stop the case from going for trial for years before finally settling out of court and saying Suzuki "makes good quality vehicles".
In recent years the SJ413, SJ410 , and the newer Suzuki Sidekick and Geo/Chevy Tracker have been seen more and more in off-road situations as their small size and relatively cheap price have made them an alternative to the American Jeep.
