Ruth Snyder (1895 - 1928), murdered her husband, Alfred Snyder. She was electrocuted at Sing Sing Prison on January, 1928, along with Judd Grey, her lover and co-conspirator. Grey's feet caught fire during his electrocution.
The final moments of her execution were caught on film, with the aid of a miniature camera strapped to the ankle of Tom Howard , photographer for the Chicago Tribune, working in cooperation with the New York Daily News. The picture is still controversial.
