Ron Francis

Ron Francis (born March 1 1963, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) is a professional Ice Hockey Center in the NHL, playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ron is effectionally known as "Ronnie Franchise" from his Hartford Whalers days.

Francis has played part of the 2003-04 NHL season for the Leafs, and has also played for the Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Carolina Hurricanes. He has won 2 Stanley Cups, in 1991 and in 1992 for Pittsburgh. He was drafted by Hartford in 1981. His best season was 1995-96 when he had 119 points. That season, he led the league in assists with 92. The previous season, he also led the league in assists with 48.
