Rikssvenska is an ambiguous Swedish language term with the alternative meanings:
- Rikssvenska may denote Swedish as spoken and written in Sweden in contrast to the Finland-Swedish of Finland,
- Rikssvenska may also denote the most prestigeous variety of Sveamål, i.e. the Swedish as spoken in the capital region of Stockholm–Uppsala.
- Rikssvenska may also be used for Standard Swedish, i.e. (the written representation of) the language as it is taught to students of Swedish.
Formerly, speaking Rikssvenska was a requirement for newscasters and hosts in Swedish Radio and television broadcasting, but the last ten years have seen a change in this, allowing for more pluralism in broadcasted dialects.
