Rättvik Municipality

Rättvik is a Municipality in Dalarna County, in central Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 1933.4 km². Of the total population of 10 847, 5 350 are male, and 5 497 are female. The population density of the community is 6 inhabitants per km². Rättvik is situated in between the three cities of Borlänge, Falun and Mora. The area near Rättvik has the highest population of Brown Bears in Sweden.

Culture

Rättvik is a worldwide-known small town in the middle of Sweden in the province of Dalecarlia. It is famous for their old tradition of folkmusic and the beauty of surroundings close to Lake Siljan. Many tourists who are visiting Sweden, goes to Rättvik to experience a traditional Swedish and Scandinavian way of living. In the little village of Nusnäs , the original Dalecarlia Horses or Dalahästar, a handsculpted wooden horse colored orange red and painted with a special pattern, are still being crafted.
