James Quentin Stafford-Fraser was instrumental in the creation of the Trojan room coffee pot: the first webcam. He wrote the XCoffee client program which allowed the state of the coffee pot to be displayed on screen.

Quentin wrote the original VNC viewer for Windows and the first Windows VNC server while at the Olivetti Research Laboratory.

More recently, he was a co-founder of Newnham Research and Exbiblio .
