Pulau Aur, known locally as Aur Island, lies about 65km east of Mersing, Johor, Malaysia. With the three smaller islands of Dayang Island, Lang Island and Pinang Island, together with Pemanggil Island which is 15km northwest of Aur Island, make up the rest of the Johor Marine Park .
Aur Island, with its secluded lagoons and offshore pools, is famed for its natural scenic beauty. It is frequented by tourists who come for bathing and other water-based leisure activities. The deep, clear water, healthy corals and regular encounters with large pelagic species make these islands suited for diving trips.
Aur Island has always been a stopover point for fishermen.
Dayang Island, is the second biggest island in the Aur group. Facing the Aur Island, separated by Dayang Channel, is Kampung Pasir Putih - The Village of White Sand where the popular Dayang Island Resort is situated.
