Postcards from the Edge

Postcards from the Edge is a 1990 movie which is based on the fictionalized autobiographical book by Carrie Fisher about her relationship with her mother, Debbie Reynolds, and her own drug addiction.

The movie was adapted by Fisher and directed by Mike Nichols. It stars Meryl Streep, Shirley MacLaine, Dennis Quaid, Gene Hackman, Richard Dreyfuss, Rob Reiner, Mary Wickes, Conrad Bain, Annette Bening, Simon Callow, Gary Morton and CCH Pounder.

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Meryl Streep) and Best Music, Original Song (Shel Silverstein for "I'm Checkin' Out").
