Polyps are an alien life form from the Metroid video game. Their lumps of poisonous lava that is blown out of air holes.. There is no way to beat this enemy and shooting the lava is just a waste of time. The name might have came from the word polyp. The Polyps seem to be mounted and ready to attack shooting lava but it looks more like a machine than a living thing. The true origins of these dangerous enemies are not clear maybe they were left behind on planet Zebes.
