Peter Merholz (born 1972) is a weblogger.

Merholz coined the shorter version of the word weblog, "blog," in April or May of 1999 by breaking the word weblog into the phrase "we blog" in the sidebar of his weblog.

He is currently a partner in the user experience firm Adaptive Path .
