Peter Kent (born in Sussex, England) is a Canadian television journalist. He is currently the host of MoneyWise on Prime, and deputy news editor for the Global Television Network.

Kent began his career as a radio journalist in the early 1960s. He then moved to television, joining Calgary station CFCN in 1965, and subsequently worked for CTV, Global and NBC.

In 1981, Kent was a founding producer of the CBC's newsmagazine series The Journal.

He rejoined Global News in 1992, and was the anchor of First National until 2001.

He is currently being courted to run for the Conservative Party of Canada in the next Canadian federal election according to various media reports.

His younger brother, Arthur Kent , is also a journalist.
