Per Gessle

Per Håkan Gessle (born January 12, 1959) is the songwriter and male lead singer of the Swedish bands Gyllene Tider and Roxette. He was born in Halmstad, Sweden.

He was a founding member of Gyllene Tider in 1979, and together with a friend, singer Marie Fredriksson, began Roxette in 1984.

He has also participated with the Swedish singer Nisse Hellberg in the project The Lonely Boys .

As of 2004, he has released four solo albums:

The album Mazarin is 5 times platinum as of February 2004 in Sweden. Only The World According To Gessle is in English, the others are in Swedish. Per Gessle and Scener were re-released together with a demo album in 1992 as På Väg . In 1997 Hjärtats Trakt was released, a best-of album.
