Ottawa Valley Twang refers to the English spoken in the Ottawa valley (Canada's capital) which is said to be the most closed-mouthed speech in the country. Because, those of Irish descent make the largest ethnic origin after the French, Irish immigrants have impacted the city strongly. The thick, extremely slight r-trilling accent is detected by all Canadians. The French have contributed to the accent by putting in French loanwords.
