North Sydney is a town on the Eastern Coast of Cape Breton Island, is part of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (Since amalgamation in 1995). With a population of ~7000, it is known as the "Gateway to Newfoundland" as the passenger ferry service runs from here to Port Aux Basques and Argentia in Newfoundland.
