Mike Murley

Mike Murley (born 1962) is one of the premier jazz musicians in Canada, and in the world.

Murley, born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, moved to Toronto in 1981 to study at York University, joining the Shuffle Demons in 1984. Since then, he has featured in a number of other successful jazz groups, including Metalwood. He has also toured with David Occhipinti , Time Warp, and the Barry Elmes Quintet , to name a few other groups.

He has garnered many Juno awards , and other acclaim. Today, Murley is seen as a respected teacher at various institutions. He is a part time faculty member at the University of Toronto and York University, since 1993 and 1995, respectively.
