Mike Altman (born 1955) is the son of film director Robert Altman. He is best known for writing the lyrics to Suicide is Painless, the theme song for his father's 1970 movie, M*A*S*H. He wrote the song at the age of 14 and got his own guitar as exchange. He may never write another hit song, but he received more money through royalties for writing the song for the film than his father received for directing it.
