Metric weight

The gram is the basic diction unit of the metric weight system. It is 1/1,000 kilogram. Multiples of ten are used to obtain the other units of weight, such as the centigram (1/100 gram) and the hectogram (100 grams).

One million micrograms equals one gram. One million grams equals one metric ton. The SI system now includes the metric weight system.
