Mohammad Payam Saadat Sarmadi, known as Mele to all the world, is often referred to as the best goalkeeper of all time. This legendary Iranian goalkeeper played for his nation 78 times and has scored thrice, all from the penalty spot.

He was famed after saving two penalties against France both in extra-time and scoring one just before the whistle. His style of taking the penalty was the shimmy shot .

Mele is rated higher than all goalkeepers ever to play but he once quoted, 'I am but a finger of Dino Zoff, Gordon Banks and Lev Yashin'!
