Marianne Victoria of Borbón

Marianne Victoria of Bourbon was the daughter of Felipe V of Spain. She was born on March 31st 1718 and died on January 15th, 1781. As a child, she was engaged to Louis XV of France, but went back to Spain to continue her schooling. The engagement was later broken off and she was instead engaged to the future Joseph I of Portugal. She married Joseph on January 19th, 1729. When her husband was declared insane in 1774, she was proclaimed regent, and acted as the regent for Portugal in all matters until Joseph's death in 1777. Upon her husband's death, their daughter Maria became the Queen as Maria I of Portugal.
